Looks like even the people who put Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa up to AB 1381 knows it over in not only the court of "public" opinion, but the court of "court" opinion. ZD's fly on the wall says the word given to him from above was, "No appeal -- carry on." HOWEVER, that doesn't mean America's Shadiest and Most Unsafe Mayor has given up hope. (Even though the City has given up on him)...
I'm sure he's gonna be shadier than ever when it comes to these LAUSD school board run-off elections. And since another fly on the wall says Lauritzen is gonna step down anyway and has already fired some key campaign staffers -- that means a City Attorney Prosecutor, with zero educational experience will automatically win THAT one. (Tamara Whatsherface?)
Yolie Aguilar claims she's gonna have a mind of her own. (Believe THAT when the school construction budget stays with the school and not the mayor's short list of preferred contractors.) Then there's the Kliener run-off. So well see how much Antonio can do to hijack the school construction budget as a backseat school board driver, as opposed to sitting in the driver's seat.
I know the "shameless, no-pride, city general fund milker" mayor probably wants to go another round with the courts, like a punchdrunk loser in a boxing match...who keeps on trying to pick himself off the matt for another swing at the clearly superior champ (aka: People approved Constitution). So his own corner of advisors had to throw in the towel for him and advise him against it.
I can hear the spinners and advisors now...."At least we can tell the voters, 'We tried to fix the schools but the courts wouldn't let us. Common Antonio, cheer up...How about we go build some shady condos in violation of Charter law and campaign contribution law. That should make us feel better."
