Reality TV actor and social media influencer, Spencer Pratt, has announced that he is running for Mayor of Los Angeles in the upcoming 2026 election.

Dear Los Angeles Media,
Here is what I need to hear from Spencer Pratt now that he is a candidate for LA Mayor:
He's running for Mayor of Los Angeles -- not Mayor of Pacific Palisades.
For the past year he's been doing a fantastic job of exposing the mismanagement of the Palisades fire and rebuilding process and all the corruption and shenanigans of Bass and Newscum.
But, again...NOW he's running for Mayor of Los Angeles. Palisades is only a fraction of the City.
AND, by the time he's sworn in as Mayor, if he wins, many lots will be snatched up by private equity firms -- and the State will have begun the process of building high-density affordable housing (multiple unit buildings) where single family residential homes once existed. And, nothing Pratt can do about it.
[SIDE NOTE: Are busses going to start running through the Palisades neighborhood for people living in the affordable housing? Too far to walk to the local grocery store -- let alone to your job. Even if there is a bus stop on PCH, it's too far to walk to from Palisades residential streets. And, how do people in these affordable housing units evacuate in case of another fire? Not everyone living in affordable housing buildings have cars. How are long-time Palisades residents going to feel about having busses running through the neighborhood?]
There's only SO much Pratt as mayor can do, anyway, regarding the rebuilding of The Palisades. For example, even if he decides to waive rebuilding fees -- City Council has to approve that. And, they already have balked on waiving fees. Do you believe the corrupt Planning Department will become UN-corrupt because Spencer Pratt is Mayor?
So, what about Woodland Hills...Encino...Studio City...Boyle Heights...Lincoln Heights...El Sereno...Hollywood...Echo Park...Eagle Rock...Marina Del Rey...Venice?: Each of these areas have unique issues (problems) to be addressed.
Eventually, Pratt is going to have to move on from the Palisades fire issue and address Citywide issues, and he should be doing this already now that he's announced his mayoral campaign.
How is he going to get the City ready for the 2028 Olympics when the city can't even afford enough police and fire personnel as it is? What's his strategy?
How is he going to address the homeless issue?
What's his plan to bring movie and TV production back to Hollywood? (Needs to be a top priority because Hollywood's vacancy has created a huge budget emergency for the City that is only getting worse.)
Attacking Bass for the Palisades fire isn't enough of a campaign strategy. HOWEVER, I WILL say that bASS is so unpopular (BECAUSE of the fire issue; missing/unaccounted homeless money; and general un-likability) that maybe he can win just based on attacking bASS on the fire issue.
However, I still think he needs to expand beyond the Palisades issue to prove he is worthy of Mayor and not just a tiktocker.
There IS a difference between being a critic and being able to oversee and run Los Angeles as Mayor.
Because, another concern is that Spencer Pratt was a reality TV actor 20 years ago (not a real job as relating to being L.A. Mayor), and hasn't worked a real job since (that I know of). I read that he and his wife were basically broke since the ending "The Hills" TV show after spending their $10 million fortune on luxury, fashion, and plastic surgery. (Hope he can run the City budget better than that.)
You know how much pressure it is to be L.A. mayor. You are pulled from all directions, round the clock. He's used to sippin' champagne in his hot tub. There are many, many city departments to orchestrate. At least bASS/Caruso know the in's and out's of City Hall. Pratt would have to surround himself with experienced insiders who can run the show. And, hopefully, he would know who these people are and hire them.
So, yeah...I know you are happy that it will turn the (otherwise boring) mayoral campaign season into something more interesting with his reality show. BUT, if he's serious about being mayor (which will ruin his social media lifestyle) -- he's gonna have to expand the range of issues that he is currently discussing on his social media.
And, finally...Pratt entering the campaign basically ruins it for Caruso (and Beutner), at this point, in my opinion.
Even if Pratt only gets 5%-10% of the vote -- that is enough to ruin it for Carsuso if he were planning on running. I think Spencer is the spoiler for him. And, I think Pratt easily tops Beutner. So, even more reason that Pratt has to be a serious candidate beyond a tiktoker/social media star with the single focus of Palisades fire issues.
With all that said...I STILL hope Pratt beats bASS even if he doesn't do anything mentioned above. She MUST be removed from office. And, remember...you can't spell "Bass,"without spelling, "ass."
