You know the good thing about being a one-trick pony a-hole, is occasionally, it provides a good service. (Even a broke clock is right twice a day.) So here's one day, I'm not gonna add any extra letters to his name. Thanks Jack---! (dashes ain't letters, y'all!)
ZUMA DOGG said...”Our next speaker, is Jack Weiss...Mr. Weiss.
JACK--- said...The Department of Water and Power had been advised in February that it needed to clear the heavy brush from its Franklin Canyon property. Although the agency had until June 1 to get the work done, Weiss said it should have been done sooner.
"This is the kind of thing that makes the public crazy, when two agencies aren't really communicating," Weiss said. "We have people on private property who have cleared away brush living next to public property and they want to know why it hasn't been cleared away."
DWP GM RON DEATON said..."The fire started on the utility's land, DOH!"
ZUMA DOGG said...We all know how bad the City is at planning. Let's make a new term called, "So L.A.! For example, the dealine for brush clearance is at the end of wind season, just when you don't need it anymore. (Huh, Dr. Deming, why won't they listen to you?)
MORE BAD PLANNING AROUND WIND SEASON: I was at Venice this weekend, and a store owner called me over. First of all he starts off, not with, “Hello”...but with, “How come you don’t go to City Hall anymore?
Huh..huh...huh....my WORST nightmare confirmed. I spent the past year attending almost every council meetings (from either Van Nuys City Hall, or the one right next to Skid Row) in the longest consecutive public comment streak, since Sylvia Hawkins -- and I take one week off during Spring Break, and it’s immediatley, “YOU DON’T GO ANYMORE.” (Oh no, I better keep going.)
PLUS --- EXCUSE ME MR. STORE OWNER...DON’T YOU KNOW YOU ARE THE REASON LINDA "SUCKS" LUCKS AND BILL ROSENDOH ARE HIDING BEHIND IN THEIR GENTRIFICATION ATTEMPT ON THE VENDORS ON VENICE. (So excuse me if I’m less than sypathetic to your request for ZD to use his time, expenses and energy to speak out publicly on YOUR behalf.
...But here’s the store owners request for "ZD, Public Comment" -- and how it ties into a June deadline for brush clearance:
VENICE STORE OWNER said...“Zuma Dogg, you gotta go to City Council and tell them to keep the sandstorm fences up on the beach UNTIL June. (You know, those orange plastic fences, with the little square holes, that they put along the beach to keep the sand from blowing onto the bike path, grass and sidewallk.) They put them up too early and take them down too early.” (Of course they do, that constitutes “bad planning” and where do you think Venice Beach is located --- The City of Los Angeles!)
The store owner, who was partially responsible for stripping away my income, and turning my life upside down, went on to tell me, “The MAIN two months, with the biggest winds and the most sand being blown across the grass and boardwalk, is April and May. The grass is dying from the sand, and people “wipe out” of the sand covered bike-path.” (ZD has witnessed this on multiple occastions, and noticed the dead grass along the boardwalk.)
Since City leadership seems to be on Spring Break, too (this entire term), Zuma Dogg must step in and, once again declare himself, “Mayor Pro Tem”, to proclaim:
Windy season not only includes April and May, it is the windiest season (according to this store owner with over 20 years of noticing). So I don’t know what the brush clearing agenda is for the year, but from now on it includes April and May, so you can’t wait till June anymore, right when the windy season is over”, said Los Angeles Mayor Pro Tem Zuma Dogg. “Additionally, any sandstorm fences along the great beaches of the Pacific Ocean must remain up until the day in May.” Then added, “I know you are trying to destory Venice so no one goes there anymore, just like you wanna put local hotels out of business -- and destroy the lives and income of local residents/pawns in your gentrufying scheme, but little kids are slipping off their bikes becaue of the sand, and the Sierra Club would probably be intrested to know the grass is dying, quicker than Council’s political careers.
FRED SANDFORD SAID...YOU BIG DUMMIES!:
And finally, you know this an important issuse, because the store owner (who helped file the complaints to put me out of buisiness on the beach, in violation of constitutional law, ALSO DEMANDED...”And TWO minutes...Not just one. Don’t just do one minute, then talk about something else. TWO MINUTES, then another two minutes and keep saying it until they do it.”
So that’s it I guess...all the other shady fraud, waste and abuse gets a pass, cause the only thing ZD is allowed to talk about now is the Venice Beach sandstorm fence until they put it back up. So I’m sure that will motivate Council to hurry up and put the fence back up, so I can get back to talkiing about all the other issues like shady campaign contributions and Councilmembers approving waaaaay too many tract maps in violation of City vacancy rates.
MORE ON DWP HEARTLESS/MINDLESS MINDSET:
DWP officials said they are in full compliance with code and didn't clear the brush earlier because they were afraid it would grow back by the height of fire season.
Zuma “Deming” Dogg said...”Afraid”...see I told you the problem is “fear based” thinking. It causes you to circumvent common sense. Brush is like graffitti. Is keeps popping back up. You don’t just paint over graffitti once. You have to keep doing it, as needed. So maybe the efficiency experts at DWP should implement a “quality” mindset that may prevent further loss of life, and say, “We’re going to start to inject a little common sense and civic decency into the process. The goal at DWP isn’t just to meet a minimum code of compliance...but to prevent further loss of life due to our lack of leadership. The goal of DWP is to keep the brush clear, not just to meet the numeric goal, that Mr. Deming Dogg has been warning us about...But to prevent fire and loss of property and life.” You knew we were in the midst of the driest season since Fritz Coleman has been keeping track, y’all.
SEE THAT’S THE GOAL DWP: THE REASON THEY HAVE THE CODE REQUIRING YOU TO REMOVE THE BRUSH IS AN “ATTEMPT” AT PUBLIC SAFETY. The intention is GOOD. “Gee DWP, clear the brush so fires don’t break out, by June 1st.”
BUT YOU CANNOT PRODUCE QUALITY THROUGH NUMERIC GOALS AND CODES AS WE HAVE JUST FOUND OUT. So maybe they have to clear the brush one more time a year to save lives, save property, save face and not open themselves up to whatever lawsuits are on the way.
In summary, DWP, don’t make you goal meeting a minimum requirement as required by law. Make it you goal to acheive what the code is trying to accomplish. TO KEEP THE FUCKING BRUSH CLEAR SO YOU DON’T BURN DOWN THE CITY YOU SHADY SUNSABEATCHES!
"If it is ultimately determined that the LADWP bears responsibility in this matter, we will own up to it”, said former Villariagosa "partner in crime" (figuratively speaking) Joe Ramallo, now a spokesman for DWP.
As opposed to WHAT...continuing to deny common sense and resposibility and use the fear based excuse that you were afraid it was gonna grow back too soon.” I’ll tell you what, maybe LAPD should take the same tactic in law enforcement. Next time they bust someone...maybe they should just let them go, because the police are AFRAID they might committ another crime too soon after release.
