i'll one day be writing about this man elsewhere, but here's a quick intro if you haven't heard of him. zuma dogg is about the most imperfect perfect rebel you'll find, with vast reserves of something most "libertarians" (or whatever) lack: balls and soul.
this MFer will get up in the face of pretty much any "authority" figure, and he's intimidated most everyone in the L.A. ruling class — especially the vacant suits haunting city hall. ZD has socialist tendencies which i see hope for him removing on his own. before you watch this video example, you should also know that ZD is as intelligent as the character he plays seems stupid. ZD's genius is in his flow. try to find somebody more competent on his feet, able to jump from one ludicrous front to another, all while slamming home, usually in beautifully rushed 2-minute segments, the essential message of liberty: "you are no better than me with regard to rights."
well, enough intro. here he is. brace yourself (especially if you don't like jiveass white dudes).
important to note something so many in liberty circles don't get: ZD crosses lines routinely. he jumps over, waits for the swatting arm to coil for a strike, then hops back with a falsetto goofball version of whatever "fuck you" he can get away with. in this manner zuma dogg is more representative of the actual american revolution than any federalist-paper spouting dickweed who ever came down the pike. british tyrants were zuma dogg'd from this land, not briefcased away. too few supposedly historically minded americans are aware that the energetic liberty movement was composed of vandals and a shouting, intemperate mob, overflowing with intolerance for systematic abuse.
to many "intellectual" liberty advocates, zuma dogg will be purely offensive. that is their deficiency, not his. do you find ingenious, instinctive method in the following clip?
i hope so. i hope you understand that more crucial to the preservation of liberty is not utilitarian, tortured argument in defense of obscure, often boring bullshit, but one simple, almost forgotten passion: the spirit of resistance — a pushing back at almost every opportunity. why? because plunderers abound in all times, and always will. as in his gene simmons video, zuma dogg also excels at peeling away some of the insufferable pomp and false elevation inherent in tyrannic systems. advancing liberty, this jive-talking, seemingly stupid, ranting, sometimes rude, but always positive and charismatic man renders many of us pathetic pikers by comparison. some might be surprised that he also writes better than most of us.
rothbard, mises, and hayek were colossal builders of an intellectual framework for protection of the spontaneous order. all of it is for naught without passionate people getting in faces, demonstrating and fostering rebelliousness against the correct targets. do not overlook them, for they have something you and i need to emulate whenever we can do it honestly.
